Zodiac

The images drawn here come from my time in Panama. They show a strong influence from the mola, a multilayered panel sewn by Kuna women, pottery from Cocli Province, pre-Colombian pottery rubbings and a little farther afield, Chac Mul - the Mayan rain god.

This series started when I drew a crab, not meaning to have it be cancer at all. When I showed it to a friend she asked if I was drawing the zodiac and I realized she had noticed something I hadn't consciously planned.
